Bill Geerhart of Los Angeles writes, “I enjoyed The Rock Snob’s Dictionary, but I could not believe that you omitted Bear Family Records but included Sundazed and Rhino. More than any other label, Bear caters to the Rock (and Country) snob. It is the Criterion of music labels. What gives?!” Bill then reveals that he co-produced Bear’s 2005 box-set compilation of Cold War-era pop oddities, Atomic Platters, which includes such songs as the Louvin Brothers’ “Atomic Power” and H-Bomb Ferguson’s “Rock H-Bomb Rock.”

On that evidence alone, we’ll consider Bear Records for the leatherbound Special Edition of Rock Snob.
