Spike “Not His Real Name” Priggen of New York, New York, a musician and self-proclaimed Snob whose hugely entertaining site Bedazzled! is one of the more fun links offered on our Snobroll, laments the absence of the scraggly Brit popsters the Pretty Things from the book.
“It’s hard to believe they’re not in there,” writes Spike. “They made the first concept LP. They’re much better than the Stones. (Does anyone dispute this? Not Johnny Rotten...) Brilliant in three eras. (Garage-y Stones era/psych era/’70s Led Zep-label era). Practically unknown in the states... they would seem to fit many of your criteria. I’m just surprised.”
To be honest, Spike, so are we. We thought of putting them in but somehow never got around to it. All the more reason to look forward to the Revised Edition. And congratulations on getting Bun E. Carlos to play drums on your album.
