J.D. Smith of Washington, D.C., wonders why we don't include the Chicago Tribune's Greg Kot in our Snobroll of especially Snobby critpersons, along with his pal Jim DeRogatis. Smith, in high dudgeon, further fulminates that "special punishment should be meted out to rock critics who go out of their way to use 'griot' and 'call-and-response' as covers for their unbearable whiteness." Excellent points, J.D. As for Kot, he shan't be besmirched here. He, like The Da Vinci Code's Dan Brown, is a fellow member of the Doubleday Broadway Books family (Wilco: Learning How to Die), and we all pull for each other and pool our royalties to cover our children's tuition. Right, Dan?
